I made my reservation at 9:00am and originally it said the wait was going to be 109 minutes. I figured I would get there early to see if there were any no-shows or if they could squeeze me in, so I hopped on my bike and began to ride over. Once I got there I was told it was in fact going to be a 2hr wait and at that point I would not be able to get my hair cut until 11:40am. So, trying to make the best of the situation, I hopped on my bike and went to go get breakfast. I ended up getting a flat tire and had to go to the bike shop to get my tire fixed.
I called Sports Clips at 11:30am and spoke with a very nice gentleman named Nate and as a courtesy for their time I told him what happened, and said that I would get there as soon as I could, but emphasized that I was still planning on coming. A few moments later I got a call from Sports Clips, and the Manager Samantha informed me that if I did not get there within 20 minutes, the computer was going to kick me out of their system and that I would have to make another reservation (The wait time at this point was 231 minutes).
I asked Samantha if they could at least write my name down and squeeze me in when I arrived, or something, anything like that to make this work.
She informed me that her hairdressers were TRYING TO MAKE MONEY and if she did what I requested, (somehow) they would be losing money.
I don't understand how keeping my place in line would lose anyone any money! The person after me would get to go 1 person earlier and the people after them would be waiting the same amount of time as if I was there on time.
So basically, I waited longer than I was originally told, and had unfortunate luck with my tire, I called them as a courtesy to them so that they knew I was not bailing on them, and that was their response!
Needless to say, I ended up getting there a little before noon which was within the time Samantha informed me I needed to be there and my name had been wiped, DESPITE me getting there within the time they told me I HAD TO BE THERE! So that Manager Samantha must have taken my name off of the list after our phone call, regardless my desire to still try and make things work!
Honestly, it's apparent by her response that Sports Clips is more concerned about making money than providing a service to their customers! This is not the first time I've had an issue regarding reservations, but truly this will be the last! I will NEVER be coming back again. As a long-time customer of theirs, I've honestly never experienced something as corrupt and crooked as I did today!
I hope Sports Clips can adjust their policy, but what rubbed me the wrong way was the interaction with that Manager Samantha and the fact that she tried to justify it by saying that I would be losing them money! There was no remorse for my situation, even though I called her specifically telling her I was not trying to bail or waste their time; nor was there any desire to try and make things work, regardless of all of the delays THEY previously made to my appointment.
OH and another fun-fact that Samantha also let me know about. Apparently, "Checking In" is not making a reservation! Never mind it not saving the specific time they give you, but doesn't even save you a position in line apparently! So what's the point of checking in?!
This place feels like a concentrated animal feeding operation, where you once you check in, you're at the mercy of whatever THEY want to do, with no regard for how long you've been waiting or how long you've been a customer of theirs! Apparently you're only an "MVP" to them if you PAY them for one!! DO BETTER SPORTS CLIPS!!
